RNLI Charity Beer 'Ahoy' Sets Sail

Bays is making waves once again with the launch of our latest charity brew ‘Ahoy’, a refreshing golden ale raising a glass—and vital funds—for the heroic crew of Torbay RNLI.

Officially setting sail on 14 July 2025, ‘Ahoy’ is the third release in our family-run brewery’s 2025 Charity Brews campaign and will be available in bottles, beer boxes and on cask.

Crafted exclusively with hops sourced from UK shores, every bottle sold helps support the brave volunteers who keep Devon’s coastlines safe, with 5% of proceeds paid in support of the RNLI.

‘Ahoy’ will be available to purchase via our online shop, as well as in pubs and bars across Devon, and will also be on tap at our pop-up bar during Torbay RNLI’s CrewFest 2025 event.

Taking place on Saturday 16 August 2025 (11am–10pm) at The Old Coastguard House on Kings Quay, the event will see volunteer lifeboat crew and locals enjoy live local music, delicious Devon produce, and festival fun for all the family on Brixham’s harbourside.

Director of Bays Brewery, Peter Salmon, said: “Ahoy is more than just a great homegrown golden ale—it’s a heartfelt tribute to the RNLI volunteers who risk their lives to keep our coast safe.

“We’re incredibly proud to be supporting the Torbay lifeboats through our charity beer programme, and CrewFest promises to be a true celebration of their service and the community they protect.”

The launch of ‘Ahoy’ comes as Torbay RNLI prepares to celebrate its 160th anniversary in 2026, marking over a century and a half of lifesaving service from one of the UK’s busiest lifeboat stations.

Earlier this year, Bays was proud to lend its support to the Offshore & Bays Festival which raised an impressive £9,009 for Torbay RNLI— a clear sign that Devon knows how to drink for a good cause.

Ron Campion, Launch Authority at Torbay RNLI and Event Manager of CrewFest 2025, said: “We’re honoured by the generous support that Bays Brewery continues to give to the Torbay RNLI lifeboat station and its volunteer teams.

“We can’t wait to ‘splice the mainbrace’ with ‘Ahoy’ over the coming weeks.  And we look forward to enjoying it with friends, family and supporters at our upcoming CrewFest event in August.”

‘Ahoy’ is the third of four charity brews being served up by the Torbay brewery which is giving back to the Devon community throughout 2025 with four small-batch limited-edition charity brews.
