We are passionate about doing as much as we can to help our environment and this runs right through all areas of the business.
Keeping it Local
Using local suppliers is key to reducing our carbon footprint. We are lucky enough to have Tuckers Maltings just a few miles from our brewery where we source our malted barley. Tuckers is one of only four malt houses in the country which still produces malt in the traditional manner.
Some of our malt produced by Tuckers now comes from barley grown by local farmer, Phil Tully, just over a mile from the brewery. He also uses our ‘spent grains’ to feed his cows so nothing goes to waste!
Powered by the Sun
Our most recent commitment to reducing our carbon footprint has been to install over 30 kilowatts of solar panels on to the roof of our brewery.
Safe and Legal Ale
Bays Brewery is one of the few breweries both regionally and nationally to have achieved SALSA Accreditation. This demonstrates that we are producing safe and legal produce to a standard that far exceeds the minimum standards expected by the enforcement authorities.
